Our Story

Milford Food Bank, located at 111 South James Street, Milford, IN 46542, had a meager beginning in 2010 serving just five local pantries with a borrowed trailer, forklift, building and a handful of volunteers.  With open hearts and a lot of faith, the food bank steadily grew.

in 2012 Milford Food Bank operations moved to the warehouse of The Papers, Inc. From this location we served 50 pantries in 12 counties in northern Indiana and southern Michigan. The food bank was abundantly blessed in 2017 with the donation of a 5000 sq. ft. building around the corner from The Papers.  Since then, we have continued to use ware house space in The Papers, but our operations and distributions all occur at our location on James St.

Today Milford Food Bank serves around 130 different organizations.  We work with food pantries, soup kitchens, recovery homes and school backpack programs.  We distribute over 350,000 pounds of food a month.

Our Mission

Being a faith based organization, it is the mission of Milford Food Bank to share the love of Christ by providing food to the needy and food insecure.

"For I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me." Matthew 15:35

Food Rescue

As Milford Food Bank has grown we have realized the enormous opportunity to work with local businesses and warehouses to rescue food that would otherwise go to waste.  Excess, damaged or short-dated (approaching a best by date) food can be rescued and in turn distributed to our local partners.

Milford Food Bank is increasing our local business and warehousing partners to rescue more food that can be enjoyed in our communities.  From Rise 'n Roll to Courtney's Bakery to Kroger, Walmart and Amozon, we take it all!

Food Donations

Food is donated to Milford Food Bank from all over the Midwest and the nation.  We are so thankful for all the generous partners we have that are willing to work with us to provide food to the communities we are in.
