Volunteer Spotlight: Cindy Tudor

ree

We wholeheartedly believe we have the best volunteers at Milford Food Bank, so each month we feature one of our loyal volunteer staff members to share about. Today, we are featuring Cindy Tudor of Milford, Indiana.

What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned while volunteering here?

Everyone wants to take care of our community and all the volunteers who show up to help every week. I didn’t expect this many people, the love they show each other, and the fun we have.

What’s your favorite thing to do here?

I like packaging food, because the group that does it has a good time.

What’s a small moment here that made a big impact on you?

Working with a young girl named Anna. When I first met her, we clicked. Each week, we look for each other and work together. A couple of weeks ago, she brought me a special gift. I told her that any time she needed to talk, she could call me. She’s been a light for me to see and work with. I just hope I’ve made an impact on her.

Do you volunteer elsewhere?

Yes, I volunteer at Van Buren Township Food Pantry, which is how I got started volunteering. I would bring in boxes from Brock for the pantry to use. I retired this past winter and have been at the food pantry since, and now here at the food bank.

Why do you volunteer your time?

It gives me a chance to get out of the house and be around people.

What motivates you to keep coming back, even on the hard days?

The love I feel from everybody when I come in here. Carol, Vickie, I could name all of them. Being here, seeing Christ and the love they have for Christ, and wanting to help people. The love of Christ is so evident here. It amazes me that this is happening right here in our town.
