Volunteer Spotlight: Betty Farrell

We run on volunteer power and wholeheartedly believe we have the best volunteers at Milford Food Bank. So, each month, we feature one of our loyal volunteer staff members. Today, we are featuring Betty Farrell.

Betty has been part of the Milford Food Bank family for the past two and a half years. She’s someone who likes to stay busy, lend a helping hand, and do whatever needs to be done.

One of the biggest surprises for Betty has been learning just how much good food can go to waste if it isn’t rescued. She especially enjoys sorting food and discovering different foods and products she didn’t even know existed. Whether she’s sorting, organizing, or tackling something unexpected, Betty is always happy to pitch in wherever she’s needed.

Betty lives in Wakarusa, but Milford holds a special place in her heart. Her brothers used to live here, and she spent many years bringing her kids to Waubee Lake. So, in many ways, being part of Milford Food Bank feels like coming back to a familiar place. We are so glad she's here and thankful she chooses to serve her community by volunteering at Milford Food Bank.
